Acceptable Use Policy
Effective November 1, 2026
LocatingLeads is for sending honest, relevant, one-to-one emails to local businesses about services that could help them. Every customer shares the Service's reputation with email providers, so one account that sends spam can hurt everyone. This policy is part of the Terms of Service.
Who you may contact
- Businesses only. Contact businesses at addresses they publish for business contact. Don't use the Service to email consumers or people's personal addresses.
- Businesses in the United States only. Other countries, including Canada and the EU, require consent before this kind of email, which the Service isn't built to collect.
- No bought or rented lists. Don't upload or import purchased, rented, traded or scraped lists of addresses.
- Anyone who has said no stays off. Don't email anyone who has unsubscribed or asked you to stop, whether through the Service or another way, and don't use another account or tool to reach them.
What you may send
- Tell the truth: who you are, what you offer, and what you found. Don't make false claims about a business's website or listing, or invent results, reviews, or relationships.
- Use subject lines that match the email. No fake "Re:" or "Fwd:", no fake urgency, no pretending to be a customer.
- Keep the unsubscribe link and the physical address the Service adds.
- Don't send threats, harassment, hateful or sexual content, or anything defamatory.
- Don't promote anything illegal, or regulated products such as weapons, drugs, gambling, adult services, debt relief, or get-rich-quick schemes.
- Don't send malware, phishing, or links meant to deceive.
- Don't impersonate another person, business, or organization, or use a sender name that isn't yours.
How you may use the Service
- Don't try to get around plan limits, sending limits, pauses, or suppression lists, for example by opening extra accounts.
- Don't share your account, resell access, or use it to send for clients without telling us.
- Don't probe, scan, overload, or attack the Service, or try to access other customers' data.
- Don't use the Service to collect data for any purpose other than your own outreach through it.
How we enforce it
The Service watches the bounce and unsubscribe rates of each account's recent emails, and pauses sending automatically when they're too high. We also review reports of abuse and may pause or close any account that breaks this policy, with or without notice. Depending on what happened, we may warn you, pause sending until you fix it, or close the account. Fees already paid aren't refunded when an account is closed for breaking this policy.
